Athlete Passport
One rugby identity. The player decides who sees it.
The Athlete Passport is the consented record that unions, scouts and universities can search. It is not a copy of the school player file. Players and guardians choose what is shared, then activate or revoke recruitment consent at any time.
Why it exists
A player should not have a different CV at every school.
When an athlete moves between teams, or a scout asks for a profile, schools usually export a spreadsheet. That export often includes more than anyone intended to share — and it is already out of date.
TryTrack keeps the operational player record inside the school or club. The passport sits alongside it as a national identity: profile, achievements and only the performance or medical summary the owner has allowed.
What can be shared
Consent is a set of switches, not an all-or-nothing upload.
Performance history
Optional. Shared only when the player or guardian turns it on for marketplace and university suggestions.
Medical summary
Optional and non-clinical. Availability and return-to-play state can be shared. Injury notes stay with the owning organisation.
Achievements
Honours, representative caps, tournament results and academic achievements the player chooses to list.
Guardian contact
Optional, and aimed at universities. Schools can keep contact details off scout search if they prefer.
Activate or revoke
Recruitment consent can be switched on and withdrawn. External roles lose access when consent is no longer active.
How it works
School record first. Passport only when someone opts in.
The programme keeps the file
Wellness, attendance, injuries and matches stay inside the school or club. That work does not require a passport.
The player sets visibility
Players or parents choose profile, performance, medical summary, achievements and contact, then activate recruitment consent.
The network can find them
Unions can nominate into pools. Scouts can search and shortlist. Universities can add the athlete to a scholarship programme.
POPIA-aligned sharing
Identity is protected. Clinical notes do not travel.
Athlete identity is resolved without exposing a full SA ID number to scouts or recruiters. Passport views are logged. TryTrack is not a medical provider and the passport is not a replacement for a clinical record.
